Well, you know… Husqvarna [and KTM] are bringing it to the two-stroke off-road market with an all-new, electric-start, 249cc two-stroke engine that feeds fuel through a 39mm throttle body and injects it directly into the transfer ports. Already on dealership floors in the U.S. the electronically fuel-injected Husqvarna TE 250i is claimed to run like a perfectly jetted, carbureted two-stroke engine while being more fuel and oil efficient than any carby two-stroke could dream of being. The TE 250i is also claimed to lower emissions, cut exhaust smoke by 50 percent and increase range by 40 percent. The rest of the 250i shares much in common with its Husqvarna and KTM siblings, with a WP-designed chrome-moly chassis, WP Explor 48 fork and WP DCC shock. Of course, the TE 250i also gets Husqvarna’s exclusive three-piece composite subframe, which weighs just 3.1 lbs. In fact the TE 250i only 6.5 lbs. more than a carbuereted Husqvarna TE 250.
