Durability and malleability were key factors in GMC’s decision to make a carbon fiber reinforced polymer truck bed. The carbon fiber used in the CarbonPro bed is actually one-inch strips of the material mixed into a polymer that allows GMC to easily mold features such as the wheel chock indentions into the bed while also allowing scrap material to be shredded, melted down, and reused for other reinforcement components.
